lip blush/semi-permanent lip tint

LIP BLUSH IN SHORT

What is lip blush?

Lip Blush is a form of semi-permanent tint applied with a tool not unlike a microneedling tool.

During the treatment we deposit the tint on the lip, with the purpose of redefining, recontouring and giving the illusion of a fuller and more plump appearance. We have 13 colors to choose from, and with blending different tints, the color options are endless.

What are the benefits of lip blush?

What are the benefits of permanent cosmetics for the lips?

  • Restores color to lips that have become pale

  • Corrects Blurred lip lines

  • Camouflages scars and hypopigmentation

  • Kiss-proof and smudge-proof color

  • Make lips appear fuller and larger

  • May eliminates the daily use of pencils to outline, fill-in, or reshaping lip borders

  • Saves time and money!

How much does lip blush tattooing cost?

Lip Blushing usually costs between 700$ and 1500$ depending on where you live. It might be tempting to go for cheaper options, but remember that lip blushing is a cosmetic service requiring technical skills and you should only rely on fully trained professionals for such procedures. This comes with a cost, but you should put your body within the hands of someone you trust. Please see 'Our Services' pages for Harlow Studio's prices.

How long does lip blushing last?

Between 2 and 5 years, depending on how carefully you follow aftercare instructions and how many touch up sessions you have.

Does lip blush hurt?

Yes, the process may hurt mildly. However, most studios use numbing cream. At Harlow Studio we use a pre-numbing cream and a second numbing agent during the procedure.

How long does lip blushing take?

A lip tattoo session takes about 2 hours.

Please send your artist a picture of your lips prior to your appointment, as darker lips may require two sessions. The second session is priced at 80$ and the date will be selected by yourself and the artist.

Why Two Sessions for Darker Lips?

Should your lips be too dark to get the 'popping' color you desire on the first session, your artist will lay a canvas of 'foundation pigment' during the first session in order for the prominent color two appear during the follow-up.

Please note that the resulting color of your lip blush depends on your underlying skin tone, the actual lip color, the thickness of your skin, your age and lifestyle factors.

The same pigment may give a different result on various different skin tones.

How long does it take for lip tint to heal?

It takes around 5 to 10 days for the lips heal after a lip blushing procedure. Be aware that the color will vary quite a lot during the healing process before reaching the final color that you agreed upon with your permanent makeup artist.

DO'S AND DON'TS BEFORE A LIP BLUSHING APPOINTMENT

DO: Bring pictures/lipsticks in order to show to your cosmetic tattoo artist the color that you want.

Please read the following carefully;

If you are prone to cold sores you must take a preventive tablet (anti-viral medication) in order to prevent a flare up beginning 3 days prior to the appointment and on the day of the appointment. Examples of antiviral medications: Zovirax, Famvir or Valtrex. Please speak to your pharmacist about this if it is a concern.

DON'T: Consume alcohol, caffeine, fish oil, Vitamin E, aspirin and ibuprofen as they cause the blood to thin and will result of more bleeding during the procedure.

DO'S AND DON'TS AFTER A LIP BLUSH TATTOO SESSION

DO: Use a lot of lip balm to keep your lips moisturized. Plan a follow up appointment with your permanent makeup artist. Do use the lip masks and medicated lip ointment provided by the Studio, the ointment should be used twice daily for the next 5-8 days depending on your personal window of healing (discontinue the medicated ointment when the chapping ceases) Do apply cold compress to the area liberally to reduce swelling.

If you are applying acidic or brightening skincare (AHA’s, retinol, peels, glycolics, salicylic acid, etc.) please first cover your lip tattoo with vaseline to avoid premature pigment fading.

DON'T: Pick your scabs. Never! Also, avoid sun exposure and, spas and workouts for around 2 weeks post-treatment. Do not eat spicy food in the 48 hours following the session. Avoid tanning beds for 30 days post- treatment. Smoking may potentially subject your Lip Blush to a color change. It is not wise to apply a fake tan serum to the area as it may warp the color.
